Most fax machines, photocopiers and scanners have an ADF
[Automatic Document Feeder]. This device which takes several pages and feeds the paper one page at a time into a scanner or copier facilitates the scanning of, multiple-page documents automatically [without the user having to manually replace each page]. On most you have a choice of scanning either on a flatbed or through an ADF.

There are two types of document feeders capable of two-sided scanning

..1/ RADF [Reversing Automatic Document Feeder]
it scans one side of a page, then flips it and scans the other side. We consider if you are at likely to want automatic scanning of both sides of a double sided document you purchase a single pass duplex scanner as
these scanners tend to have jamming problems.

..2/ DADF [Duplexing Automatic Document Feeder]
it scans both sides in one pass.
.... One advantage of the DADF it is much faster for two-sided originals.
....The main advantage it can handle damaged & thicker documents with much less chance of document jams.
