Testing & Tagging

Testing & Tagging is a generic name given to the process of visually inspecting and electrically testing in-service electrical equipment for safety. Sometimes it is termed PAT testing, test and tag, test tag, electrical tagging, appliance testing, portable appliance testing or 230 volt lead tagging.

Test & tagging is carried out to determine
if the 230-volt appliance is electrically safe for personal use & is not fire hazard.
The equipment has an inspection for mechanical defects such as damage or missing components & electrical tests to measure earth continuity, insulation resistance and polarity to make sure they are within specified limits.

Special equipment has been manufactured to carry out the Portable Appliance Testing in a reliable and cost effective manner.

**********This equipment is expensive.
Environ Printers & Fax Repairs spent approximately $5000 to purchase the necessary equipment to carry out the 230-volt portable-appliance testing & tagging in accordance with AS/NZS 3760.
